Seat problems... 200

Honorable Bricksters,

The driver seat on my '89 240 is in pretty bad shape. Springs and foam are pretty well shot on bottom, and RT top is getting all deformed (falling off frame). I assume this is common, and checked out IPD, but the cost to repair seems prohibitive. Seems like repairing 1 would break the bank. Any lower-budget options for a thrifty like me? Dealing with junkyards is tough, and i'm thinking.. it's the age that deteriorates this stuff, right? Any DIYers have any wisdom? I've been considering just slapping a seatcover on and just pretending that it doesn't annoy me.
