Timing alignment 700

Go to the top of this page, click on FEATURES and click on 700/900 FAQ on the drop down menu. In the 700/900 FAQ, go to "Engine:Seals, Belts, Crankcase Ventilation" and you'll have all the information you need. The 700/900 FAQ are a great source of help on your 740, I've never found anything like it yet on the Net.

Good luck on the timong belt replacement. You may want to consider replacing the front seals at the same time as well as the tensioner. Read up on all of this in the FAQs. I chickened out on the seals on my first two timing belt changes and then finally took the plunge on my third. It wasn't as hard as I thought.
