There is a section in the 700/900 FAQs about what to look for in buying a 960. From what I read, there were some block casting problems in the first models of that engine. Later models have this corrected. Also do a search in the archives on this site and you'll see lots of discussion on the 960. I opted to go with a 940 for its known reliability and simplicity but I still would love to try a 960.
