hard cold start 200 1984

245 GL wagon. Hi! My name is Sandy, a friend of Anthony's who recommended this site. Started having trouble starting in August. Had to pump once before starting and then once it turned over, had to give gas to clear out the chugging. Once it warms up and the chugging stops, I have no problems but it does seem to lack a little power. Seems to be running rich, smells like gas. Now that the weather is cold I can't get it started at all. Checked air filter and timing, replaced coolant temp sensure located above knock sensor below intake manifold, no change. There is a small amount of white smoke after I get it started. Totally stumped. Any ideas or thoughts would really help!
