Shaking at 45+ MPH 200 1988

After searching through old posts, this is the first time I can't solve it by researching the problem before posting.

A few weeks ago I was getting on the highway, and when I hit 45MPH, the steering wheel starts shaking to the left and to the right, and I hear a "clunking" sound coming from the driver side front. I pull off to the side, and check to see if the lug nuts are tight on the wheels, they are. So since then I've checked all the nuts and bolts the archived posts said to check.

Yesterday I drop the car off at the local mechanics shop, and tell them to do a test drive to see what I'm talking about. They replace the "Left Outer Tie Rod End" and do my front brakes. I'm going about 30mph, and I can hear a clunk when going over a few bumps. Sure enough, get on the highway, get to 45-50mph and the shaking starts right up again.
So as of now I'm stumped on what to do and try next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
