Going crazy, need to fix 200 1983

It seems something needs to slide forward in order to allow you to shift into first. Ie. From a previous post, when you stopped suddenly you were able to shift into first. As, too, when you were ramped (assuming it was the rear wheels raised).

If shift lever movement is unhindered by the frame (you checked under shift boot) and a new trans mount should have firmed up forward-rearward transmission movement, so it may be internal.
