Going crazy, need to fix 200 1983

I think it must be the pilot bearing. I replaced the clutch cable, had all gears except first. When I had the car up on ramps the front wheels were raised and I was able to engage first. I checked the motor mounts, one on drivers side is good, the other is bad. No noise or issues from any other gears, First just will not engage with the engine running or not. Could it be the bad passenger motor mount has the linkage binding on the drivers side? I have not seen what the linkage looks like on top of the transmission. Do the bearing just go bad quick? Thanks again for the help.
