Posessed Dummy Lights / New Radiator? 200 1990

I found a leak in my radiator about 2 months ago. It's pretty minor, but I am looking for a good deal on a new/used one and then I'll have it replaced (anyone have a radiator???). I keep the fluid where it needs to be by adding a few cups about every 2 weeks when it gets to the Min. line. I live in the city, so there are not too many issues with animals drinking what leaks out, however, I'd like to switch to a nontoxic anti-freeze. Thoughts?

My other issue is that sometimes, maybe 40% of the time, when I first start the car (temp out doesn't seem to matter) it acts like it doesn't have much power and the dummy light kind of go off and on, but only faintly, never to their brightest. Kind of like the car wants to stall. However, the car/engine acts fine. There is no change in the amount of power I have when driving. It goes away if the car is revved (like when I'm shifting) and when I am on the highway. The dummy lights act up only when I'm idling or when I'm driving slow in a low gear and not giving the car much power. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. Any ideas? The only other issue is that every once in a while it starts stubbornly. Like maybe once a week.

Thanks,

Julie
