Sounds like a metal 'ping' 200 1985

I replaced ball joints & strut inserts (KYB) about a week ago. When sitting stil & turning the wheel I hear/feel a ping on the driver side. When comming to a stop the more pressure on the brakes the more I have ping. When I hit a slight bump I hear the ping. Because she did this before I had the maintenance done I made sure that other parts of the front end were in good shape. She drives like a dream now. This is really no problem, but just wonder what might be causing the ping sound?
