Apparently I need a new rear end (my '85 244 DL automatic non turbo does too) 200 1985

I found a post with a little info regarding swapping rear axles, and I know that the gear ratio is the important thing. (Hopefully mine and the one from my '83 244 parts car will match.) Is there anything special I need to know, or make sure that my shade tree mechanic knows, before we do this?
