Front Clip Removal 140-160

I don't have enough height in my garage to pull my 142's engine and lift it over the the nose section. With my PV I could remove the central nose piece and clear the cross member easily. Could that work with this car, or should I remove the whole front clip? I ask because this car has had some front-end sheet metal repair, and I don't see much of a separation line between the center piece and the fenders. Tips from anyone who has done this would be much appreciated.
Bob S.
