'94 AW71TRANS KICKDOWN - VALVE STICKING 900 1994

'94 940 159Kmis.

The dealer replaced two kickdown cables in last 5Kmis. Said the first installation was done incorrectly ... Now it is stuck (extended) again. In all cases the accelerator would not fully depress until forced, extending the kickdown cable, then afterwards the cable would not retract and the tranny upshifts only at high revs. I guess its obvious that the valve in the tranny is sticking (?). I assume I can take this apart and clean it ... ?? Then hot flush the tranny because it has gotten mucked up ... ?? Am I on the right track? Any tricks or things to look out for in cleaning this valve? Do I have to take the valve body down to do this? I do NOT have the factory manual and am concerned about keeping track of all the little ball-checks, etc ...

Thanks.
