What is this? 900

"DO NOT attempt to remove it from the so-called inspection hole, that hole was designed more than likely to hold the anti-rattle clip in place. There are three anti-rattle clips per assembly with this caliper, they should be cleaned and lubed with brake grease when pads are replaced. Hope this reaches you before serious damage is done to the clips."

THANKS! That's the whole reason I went to the trouble to post all this in the first place... to overcome my complete ignorance on this subject. Of course these three anti-rattle pins are not mentioned in the Haynes.

No... I haven't done any damage... just wanted to verify pads and inspect for thickness remaining.

thanks again!
