How long should a new exhaust last? I've got leaks galore on my 780 !! 700 1990

I had replaced the cat-back October 2001 with a well recognized/big name/if not the biggest manufacturer.
Since then I put approx 10K. She was used 1x a week for 4 or 5 miles a week since April, so she pretty much sat there.
It now has holes rotted 1" x 3" in the pipe after the cat,
a hole at the joint to the resonater,
hole 1" x 4" before the muffler,
split in the muffler running lenghtwise and a 3/4" x 5"
rotted section with all glass coming out, the end tailpipe fell off and replaced this summer.
I called the manufacturer and they said that one system is guaranteed for life, and the other is guaranteed for 1 year. They advised me to check the receipt and go back to the installer.
My luck the "model #" is not on the receipt.
What do you guys think?
TIA
