Gutting the Cat 200

I already removed the "flow thourgh" Design middle muffler. Sounds a little lower. I was wondering about gutting the cat. I know i could lose some low end power, and also make it illegal (But hey I live in FL, there is no emmssion test around here). But will it free up anymore power? Or is it just a waste? Also, there is the CO2 sensor (not sure if its that one, but a sensor none-the-less) sticking into it. Does the computer need this sensor? It is a 1993 if that matters.

Thanks in advance,
Blake
