Cata-coverter longevity 1988 740 gle wagon non turbo 398,000 plus miles? 700

Hello again folks!

Does anyone know the longevity of a cat- converter? What advice should one take? Are they good for 100,000 or 200,000 miles? Also does the use of premium fuels and frequent oil changes (cleanliness/oil content) help extend their life? I know that prolonged idling can hurt them. 99% of my driving is hwy avg speed 80 mph and 25 mpg. I have always used synthetic oil, would synthetic help better than regular mineral based? What say you?

best Regards
