Rear Window Shelf & Speaker Installation 200 1982

Hi Guys,

During some interior restoration work on an 82 242 I removed the rear window shelf --- which was in pretty poor shape at that point. As you may know this has involved cleaning up the adhesive and what appeared to be sound deadener that stuck to the metal deck underneath the shelf --- all of which appeared to help keep the shelf in place.

I want to order a new one but also want to make sure to order all the necessary components (if there is more than one). At this point I am assuming that if you order this part from Volvo they will include all of the necessary pieces -- if it is not one unit. The Volvo parts guy that I spoke with was pretty noncommittal about whether the unit they sell included everything --- evidently he had little knowledge of the 200 series and his records were not helpful to him.

Has anyone out there replaced this "unit" before? If so was the replacement a single unit? Any tips on how best to secure it? Thanks.

Dave

P.S. This is also part of a rear speaker installation project so any thoughts about how best to deal with the back deck are welcomed. (I plan to install Boston Acoustic speakers).
