78 245 trailing arm problem 200 1978

The trailing arm is used to maintain the axle to body length. With the top torqe arm in place, the axle assembly may have rotated a little puling the lower mounting points to far away. Is the axle currently resting on a floor jack with wheels? you may be able to push (CAREFULLY) the axle toward the front of car. This may bring the mounting points back in line. May also help to disconnect the panhard rod. It goes from drivers side on car to passenger side on axle. Good luck and hope this is of some help.

Joe in Atlanta
