Seat squeak and engine chirping 200

Just getting in the swing of my new (old) 1988 240dl volvo and I've pretty well got things worked out except for this irritating squeak in the lower drivers seat. It's worst when I accelerate and slow down. The support and seat seem pretty good so what could it be? Also, I seem to be getting a kind of engine chirping that is there all the time (probably fan belts). Do Volvo belts make this kind of noise? Should I do like my wife says and just solve both problems by turning the stereo up (just kidding)? Thanks, Fred
