California EGR 900

I have a 1993 945 that was originally a California car. How do I disable and remove the EGR and associated tubings in a manner that will not affect the dependability, durability, or engine operation of the car. To me, the various tubings look like a repair waiting to happen. Since the car is no longer in California, I wouldn't think it would make anyone any difference if it were gone, and it would make working on the car somewhat easier.
