240 carpet removal 200

Greetings,

today I purchased Volvo #3 ('84 240 DL 4 door)... the Volvo bug is obviously biting harder and harder! ;)

Anyway, it got too dark before I could get a good look at what is involved in removing the carpet. I need to remove the carpet so that I can grind away rust and have the front and rear floor pans welded in a few places.

Q: are there any tips or tricks to removing the carpet? Do I need to take the seats off of the seat rails?

Any advice / tips / tricks will be appreciated.
