A single spark 1980 240

howdy all. I've had some problems with my car. Starting with starting...TAkes awhile. Turn it over runs for a second, dies...repeat 4 times. Once running is sometimes acts as its vapor locking ( low power.)Drivable, but not sweet. Well the other night I went through the start and die thing. The 5th time something changed. It was turning over, however it had a different sound to it. I have had problems with the fuel pump relay aready. In other words, I had to crack the case and tape the reply shut(pumps pumping), I do have to plug and unplug the module with each trip. So now back to that different sounding turn over. I did every thing I could, which includes, checking spark at the plugs, and coil(replaced.) I bypassed the ignition check fuses, followed wires. Now to the single spark. With the coil wire removed, as I attempt to start I see a single spark just as it starts to turn over. I have a grim idea of what is wrong, but thought I would ask here. I think it's the control module. Any ideas, or comments, please let me know. Thanks for reading
