960 Catalytic Converter 900 1995

I am having some difficulty installing an aftermarket cat converter bought from FCPGroton (I think it is made by A & B). The front of the converter (where there are the two pipes) seems to be hanging too low and is hitting a cross member support on the underside of the car. I am afraid the stress on the pipe from the cross member will cause the pipe to break or break the manifold.

One option would be to cut the cross member but i am sure that it supports something else.

Any ideas? Thanks.
