How to change power steering pump 200

BK,

If you buy a new pump, it will not come with a pulley. You'll need a pulley puller to get the old one off. If there's a Harbor Frieght in your area they sell a "made in china" puller kit for ten or 15 bucks as I recall. It will get the job done. Even with the puller the *%#* P/S pulley can be a bear to remove and it can bend very easily. Spray some BP B'laster on where the saft and pulley join,((several times) a day before removing the pulley. If you buy your pump locally the shop may pull and reinstall the old pulley on the new pump for you. A good used pump from a Pick and Pull w/pulley may be an alternative. Flush your P/S system before installing the new pump. Use clean Mobile 1 synthetic ATF to refill it. Replace the belt with a new one while your at it. You'll also need the mounting brackets from the the old pump, but transfering them is no problem. Good luck ... hope this helps.
