still mysterious vacuum problem - HELP! 140-160 1969

1. Stupid question: Is the blowby hose from the tappet cover pluged in to a metering nipple on the manifold?, or is it plugged in to a normal nipple with a big hole in it?

2. My 164S is incredibly lean at idle. It's so lean that you have to use a lot of throttle opening to get it to idle at a normal speed, this will make the vacuum very low at idle only. Cheap fix is to set the needles higher in the pistons than standard.

3. A really good "work-around" for strommies is to smash them off with a hammer & fit SU's instead. :)

If the car gets down the road OK & doesn't overheat there can't be too much wrong with the motor.
