240 new clutch question 200

I recently had the clutch replaced on my '87 240(M47). The pedal moves to the floor a lot easier. Is this something I should expect with a new clutch? Also, the pedal engages at about the same position as the old one (relatively mid to high off the floor). Is this typical? When the clutch is not released fully while pushing on the gas it "feels" like something is spinning with no acceration, is this normal (this is not a normal practice, just trying to learn the ins and outs of the new clutch)? One final question/concern: The shop that installed the new clutch (I supplied the parts) also replaced the rear main seal. I asked them to replace the horseshoe-shaped gasket to the cover for the rear main seal. They didn't replace the gasket, saying that doing so would require them to drop the oil pan. Looking at the picture in Haynes for rear main seal replacement, it would appear that in order to replace the rear main they would have to remove the cover to get to it. Any ideas? Thanks for your advice.
