Fuel System Issues?? 700 1989

Hi,

My 1989 760GLE (B280F) has been have some ongoing issues lately.

They are:
- Main Fuel Pump noise at cold start (usually lasts about 5 seconds or so). Can be accompanied by rough idle (for a while it sounded like it was running on less than 6 cyls!).

- Occasional acceleration hesitation from stop (eg: Stop Sign).

- Occasional hard start when warm. (Cranks OK, not lazy)

- Occasional "pinging" sound even at low rpm and overall lack of responsiveness (Other times runs great with loads of power).

Heres what I've checked / replaced:

1. Ignition Leads, Dist. Cap & Rotor.(All new)
2. Checked spark plugs - OK
3. Checked FPR - Idle picks up, no fuel in Vac lines.
4. Vac lines appear OK.
5. Throttle body OK, air intake appears in good condion.
6. There is a slight leak in the exhaust manifold on the RH side (not noisy). 7. Condition of all hoses appears good.
6. Knock sensor housing (Rh side) cracked.(Not replaced $$$)

I think that's all of what I've checked. There could be more though.

Cheers, Tim
Australia
