Say, what's this orange nipple for? 700 1987

As I was crawling around underneath yesterday I noticed an orange nipple on the right (passenger) side of the block, down low, about the level of the oil filter, near the bellhousing. It has ribs on it, like it is supposed to take about a half-inch hose, but no hose is in evidence...

Can any of you fine folks tell me what this is for?

New engine mounts went in like a dream, more on that later...

Thanks all,

Shifted
