Black box on firewall, behind intake: what is it?? 900 1993

My 93 940 T has this black box on the firewall with no wires going in from the engine side. It is just behind the intake manifold and has two ground wires from the engine which are on the bolt holding it to the firewall. My 91 940 SE does not have this or any of our other 700 series cars, NA and turbo.

Just wondering what it does.
