K-cam + 3.0 bar FPR on LH2.1 = Failed emissions test (at idle)

Some have been wondering about the viability of passing an emissions test with various cam grinds. Here is my report on the K-cam. I went in for the new CT emissions test this morning - I wanted to see if my current setup would pass, even though I was kind of doubtful about what the idle reading would be. To refresh:

'83 B23F/M46, LH2.1
Non stock emissions-related items are:
K-cam, advanced 6*
3.0 bar FPR
advanced ignition timing

The "Two-speed idle" test was performed. At cruise, everything was less than half of the allowed values (HC and CO, NOx not measured.) Idle emissions were twice the acceptable limit on HC. This is not too surprising, since the computer is in open-loop at idle - the injectors were squirting slightly more than stock amounts of fuel, and the overlap of the K-grind was letting a lot of unburned stuff slip right out the exhaust.

Guess I have to restore the stock setup for a bit... bummer.
