turbo 'whistle' - good or bad? 900

I've been noticing a high-pitched turbo "whistle" from my 93 940t when I'm either starting from a stationary position, or if I rev the car in neutral. It seems to go away when I go above 20 or 30 mph. At first I thought I was hearing it because my glovebox lock had broken and the door was hanging open, but since I've fixed that I seem to be hearing it more and more.

I don't think it's a bad bearing sound or anything like that. Is it possible that a hose with a hole in it could produce this effect? Does anyone else have a similar experience? If so, any suggestions as to which hose or how to test it? (I'm assuming it would be one of the intercooler hoses?)

Thanks in advance!
