Cold Stalling 200 1991

I'm sure this subject has been covered before, but my wife's '91 240 starts right up in the morning but will die soon after if it is not allowed to warm to operating temperature. Then it runs fine. When it is first started it will idle properly and even drive OK for a block or two, then it will die under load, hard re-start, and very rough idle until operating temp is reached. Ideas?
Thanks.
