Hi Matt: Yours was an early Amazon, since that was the first production year in Scandinavia and a real early example. Take a look at the Amazon that Sjef, owner of Scandcar in the Netherlands owns - middle of this page:

Sjef's Amazon serial number is in the 1100 range and came originally from Sweden as almost all the early ones did. I hear there were many mechanical problems with the early Amazons that had to be re-engineered; such as the heater. My chassis number is #046296 on the metal plate and the actual body VIN is #046279.

Since I drive my Amazon as often as I can - likely 300 miles this week alone, I'm always looking for any parts that will extend it's life. Can we e-mail offline - Cam@cvolvo.com to work out the logistics?

I actually had a web page before Volvo Sweden. I was paid to learn and apply emerging technology and 1994 was the year I started learning about the Internet at my workplace. Of course I had to apply this new found knowledge and couldn't think of a better topic for a web site. My earlier version was not on the dedicated CVOLVO.COM server, so you might have passed it by.

I'm retired now, so still find time for my hobby / past-profession and of course spending much time with my Volvo cars. As you can see by my e-mail signature I'm a sick Volvo puppy.
