I have a USA s90, 1997. It is a late '97 as this model year also had "960" badging. Both cars are identical mechanically.
By "headlamps" I take it you mean low-beams. In the US, the yellow parking lights+turn signals(blinkers) are in the same housing, with 1 dual-filament bulb. (When you say dual bulbs, I presumed you meant 2 bulbs, 1 for blinker and 1 for parking.) The low intensity filament is "ON" with the low-beams, this gives us "positioning lights" or "parking lights" or "marker" lights, whatever term you prefer. The low intensity yellow light set is always "ON" for all positions of the headlight switch other than '0'(zero). When turn signal(blinkers) are activated the high intensity filament flashes, giving low-high-low-high effect during turn signal operation.
In your last S80 simulation photos I noticed only the low-beams are "ON", but no bulb in the parking/blinker housing is lit. Is this the Euro wiring(or your simulation)? Does yours have separate "city lights" in the main headlight housing, which would make them visible only from the front when low-beams are "OFF"?
I also noticed in this picture there already seems to be a side-fender turn signal between the front wheel housing and the front door. I presume, correctly I hope, that this is a standard feature on European cars. In the US, from side view at night, the OEM car's wiring+lighting will display low intensity yellow lights at front edges(roughly 90 degree sweep front-to-side) and low intensity red lights at rear edges(same 90 degree sweep). Hence there is no need in US-spec. for separate yellow marker lights, a la S80. Is this a retouched photo or did you actually put S80 lights in the bumper fascia of your v90? Either way it looks cool, and safer too.
BTW, I frankly prefer the the two-bulb solution in the 240, separate low intensity bulb for marker/parking/positioning vs separate high intensity bulb for blinker. I like the off-high-off-high effect.
