Kiss of death? Rust pics inside.... 200

Hey Guys,

Poking around my "new" 245, I found a "bit" of rot in the bottom of the rear quarters. I've seen lots of other Volvos with similar rot, but is it a kiss of death? How many of you have repaired this section? I have access to a mig, and someone who is very good with it, so perhaps it can be an economical repair? Also, has anyone repaired it a bit differently? I'm thinking about making the bottom sections flat, and building a battery box in there? Anyone done this? Any and all info welcome.

Thanx,

Al
