UPDATE (cold idle.. help needed !!) 200 1989

Yeah, the two things I remember about the potentiometer TPS: they were used on all 89-93 240s, and they were designed to allow for acceleration enrichment because the hot film AMM is slower to react than the hot wire AMM. LH 3.1 used the hot film AMM, all others used the hot wire. One or more of those is obviously wrong. :)

If you had a hole in your intake hose, you might as well replace it. RTV silicone probably won't work too well. Of course it goes without saying that you want to make sure everything's all clamped down nicely. Make sure you can't see any exposed vacuum fittings or any cracks in the vacuum hoses.

What I'm unsure of tho is how you're getting your hand in front of the AMM. Sure a poor seal ahead of the AMM shouldn't hurt anything, but you should have an air box more or less bolted to the front of the AMM.
