Here's an odd one

My '83 240 with jetronic fuel injection was running really rough, not even drivable, but after having the injecters rebuilt and replacing the AMM, it started running great. Here's the weird part. After about a week, it started stalling. It would always restart, but would either hesitate or die whether it was hot or cold, even at freeway speeds. If I unplug the AMM and start the car, turn the car off then replug the AMM, the car runs great for a week or so then starts stalling again. Starting the car with the AMM unplugged then restarting with the AMM plugged in seems to "reset" the ECU, and the car runs great for a week or so then stalls again till it's "reset". Anyone seen this? or have any ideas for a perminate fix?
I replaced the ECU with one bought at a junk yard, No change.
