First cold snap of the season 900

hello,
well winter has just come and set in ans its been in the upper 20's all week. wensday while i driving down the interstate here in arkansas thier is still plenty of long hills to climb
And During my drive the engine seemed to become much weaker not producing very much power under 4000RPM.
I limp her home and it sounds like its missing. Thinking of the possibility it might be water/ice in the fuel lines i give it some HEET let it idle.....no real improvement.

after checking it this afternoon, still no improvment BUT the heet did help cold start. Also the exhaust does smell strongly VERY rich but thier is no smoke and it does not backfire at all.

i was kinda hoping it was just a fuel filter, but i'am pretty discouraged by the rich exhaust smell.

sooooo what do you guys think? this sound like the typical 960 ignition problems??
thanks for the help!
