Which Master Cylinder do I have? 200 1978

I have been having problems with intermittant spongy brake pressure in my '78 245. I bled the brakes which removed quite a bit of air from both of the back brakes (front were clear). The problem has now returned, and after consulting two friends who are mechanics it seems like the master cylinder may be at fault.
I called the auto parts store to order a new one, but discovered that they used three different cylinders.
The cylinder that is in the car currently has "B1-TVS" stamped on both the cylinder and the reservoir cap. One brake line connects to it near the rear on the engine side, and the other connects in the front. Any suggestions on how to figure out what I have here?
