Well it happened last night. Granma ran the red light and smacked my beautiful '92 745t. You know I'm PISSED!!!! i was Traveling westbound and i'm coming up to intersection i see this blk Montero come up to red light. Now i had the right of way because my light is green. All of a sudden she rolls up to stop but does not stop. I locked up the brakes and turn slightly to right to avoid a broadside impact. BAM! So i jump out of my car and look at the damage and the traffic light. My light was still green. So i tell granny she ran the light and she says i ran the light. The police come and right away she tell the cop i ran the light! So at this point the cop says he can give us both a ticket because he doen't know who wrong or right. The cop looks at the damage to my car and the damage to her suv and says "lady you hit his car" "How do i know?" the cop says "You ( the lady) have damage to the front of you suv" His damage is to his front driver side 1/4 panel" Anyways i have the damage to frt 1/4 panel and the hood got "pushed" off track. I can not open my hood.I'm hoping there is no frame damage. Her damage is a little worse. She had to call a flatbed tow truck due to the bumper being pushed into th pass. front wheel. i just pull the panel back off of my front wheel and i was good to go. VOLVOS R the SHIT!
So the police made out the report. Neither one of us received a ticket. He did list her info. first on the report then my info second. In Illinois if your info is listed first on the police report then you are the at fault.
Now wait and see if her insurance,Allstate will pay for the damages to my beloved brick. i only had liability on my car. I am currently kicking myself because i should have listen to first mind and get full coverage but OH Well...What are you going to do? My car will never be the same.
Ijust happened to have my digi camera with me so i did take some shot of my damage. I do not know how to post them on this site but if anyone is interested in looking at the damage,i'll send to your email acct.
I will keep you posted on the outcome. STAY TUNED.
