AUTO TRANS FLUSH / POWER STEERING FLUSH

I was reading an earlier post on flushing the auto trans through the cooling lines. I think the auto transmission flush is the easiest, cheapest prevetative maintenance the DIYer can do to an auto trans. For the cost of a case tranny fluid I do at least one a year. It then occured to me as I was reading the posts that you could also do this proceedure to the power steering. Disconnect the return line to the resevoir and put hose into container. Have a partner start the car and move the wheels side to side to better flush. You could carefully be adding fresh fluid as you flushed. Any opinions or is this already covered in the FAQs while I'm blowing my own horn and patting myself on the back.
