Sway/Anti-Roll Bar Sizes? 200 1979

Hello To All,

After a 10 hour trip to the Pick-A-Part yesterday I came out of the chaos and motor oil with two things; 1) a sore back & 2) a question about sway bars.

I want to know what sway bars are found on what models? I know it's possible to upgrade your sway's to 25mm-23mm, or 25mm-25mm for you turbo's, if you use IPD's kit. Yesterday I found a front sway bar on a 1981 264GLE that had the IPD sticker. It looked great and the poly bushing were dirty but still good. I got the sway bar for $10 so I just wanted to know if this sway bar would be an upgrade from the stock front sway bar I have on my 264GL right now. I could not find any info regarding the actual front sway bar measurement that are on my car right now (i.e. 19mm-21mm-23mm...) with the manuals that I have so I thought I'd ask the board. The sway bar I got from the junkyard looks bigger in diameter so that must mean a nicer, flatter ride. Anyways, any info on the sway bars offered on the different models would be helpful. Thanks to all in advance for your time.

Sincerely,

Nickvjr

P.S. For those who helped me out with my question on BW55 to AW70/M46 swap I ended up getting the M46 because I did not find any AW70/71 that were complete or had low milage. I'll keep the board posted on the BW55-M46 swap.
