There has been much discussion about the merits (or rather the lack) of inexpensive bushings, here is a pic of one after 28K easy San Diego Freeway miles. You decide how much your time is worth.
Here is a pic of what the bushing looked like new (on the right) with a Volvo bushing on the left.
As I have said before the Volvo unit weighs a bit over a pound, the cheepo, 12 ounces, that's 1/3rd more rubber in the Volvo one. Pushing on the rubber with a screwdriver (very scientific) shows the Volvo rubber is firmer. Granted with VCOA discount the Volvo ones are $95 at the local dealer but if I'd bought them in March of '01 I wouldn't be doing the job again 2 1/2 years later, and as you can see that bushing isn't just on its way out, it has been gone for a while. I could be out 4 wheeling with my wife today instead of spending a couple of hours changing bushings.
This car had stock springs and either Boge Turbo Gas or Bilstein Touring shocks on it. It was used for road trips and back and forth to work, it wasn't thrashed at all. Like I say, your money, your time, you decide. For me, never again.
