probs after clutch job 700 1990

I just got a used clutch put into my 740 turbo. Now the car seems to have slow pick up when changing to 5(button on stick). Before the clutch job the "idiot arrow" that tells you when to change gears would stay on while in 5. Now in doesn't. Is that part of the prob or do i just have to reset the arrow light and change gears a little later? Thanks for any help
