I vote for taking it to a driveline shop, whether they press or hammer. I've done the job myself 4-5 times, and it's aggravating, time-consuming, and you risk damaging the needle bearings and caps. You're going to want to have the shafts balanced after the replacement anyway, so you might as well have a shop do it all at once.

That's what I'll do next time, anyway.
