Resolder FPR? Is This Possible? 200 1979

Hey Joe,

I have had very good results with this K-Jet system. The reason for the post was just to see if there was anything you can do to help maintain the Control Pressure Regulator. But now I find that the car is getting harder to start and to keep running when cold. I have not had any problem like this since a bad ground for the Lambda Sond system a couple of years back. You mentioned that you adjusted the idle for summer & winter. Where do you live? I live in Los Angeles, CA and the weather is usually nice out here even in the dead of winter. I must admit that recently the temps have dropped below 40F and maybe the car is responding to that. I'm going to do a check to the devices that help the car out with cold starts; Cold Start Injector & Thermal Time Sensor, Control Pressure Regulator, & Auxillary Valve. Hopefully I find something here with my inspection. I will also try to adjust the idle and see if that does help. I must admit that even if you disconnected the Aux. Valve and the Control Pressure Regulator the K-Jet would still start as long as you have pressure & a working Cold Start Inj. (What you said earlier). Ofcourse once the engine was warm it would run to rich and be horrible on MPG.

On a side note sorry to hear about your 260 and that tranny leak. Do you suspect the Torque Converter? I'm currently going to take out my BW55 and swap in a M46. How many miles does your 260 have? Thanks for your time.

Sincerely,

Nickvjr
