First timing belt change 200 1987

Howdy,

Just finished changing the timing belt on my 87 245. Thanks to the many folks on this board who have taken time to compile the extensive online documentation which helped make this job possible. This was the first timing belt job for me, and it went smoothly, especially with the help of the Volvo special tool. Car started right up without problems after the job was complete. Bentley manual was also a great help.

Did the job in three hours in the driveway of my house on a sunny and windy 55 degree day.

The previous owner of the car went to the dealer for all maintenance until he sold it to me, and I have all the records showing previous belt changes, including seals and tensioner at 100K miles.

Thanks again to all!
