Oil Filler Cap Flew Off...Which One Fits? 200 1988

This story starts with "...my wife checked the oil..." and ends with "...the car ended up in a smoking pyre on the side of the road...". You fill in the rest. The oil filler cap on our 1988 240DL is gone. Perhaps a victim of the nearby and ever present Bermuda Triangle. I need a replacement part lickity split...like today. All the regular parts stores that I call tell me to call the dealer. Is there a replacment part for the oil filler cap made by off brands that I am not seeing? The local NAPA folks say they have one that will fit an 86 diesel Volvo...any chance it will fit my 88 gas engine? Many thanks!
