Thanks for the tip on front end clips. I think that such a clip may solve a number of the clearance problems (excepting the frame rails of course. As I was mentioning in another message, I think the Mustang II front end may be the way to go for my application. It may help with engine mounting issues also---although I am virtually certain that the best result will be obtained by enlarging the bell housing cutout and moving the motor as far aft as possible, while not blocking maintentance issues.

One other thread mentions the possiblilty if using alum heads and water pump on the Ford motor, and I think that to achieve any sort of front/back weight balance, a guy almost has to do something like that.
