Code For Factory Radio And Also Starter Motor Failing Symptoms. 700 1989

Hi All,

What are the symptoms of a starter motor starting to fail?

Yesterday my brick would not start, would turn over slightly then completely dead, called out the A.A.

The battery was all o.k and it is charging ok as he tested it.Since he jumped it, it has been starting fine. Would a faulty starter motor be very intermitent in its early stages of starting to fail?
Any ideas would be great.

Also after this problem,the radio lost its power somehow and now will not work, it is asking for its code to be entered.This i do not have as it is the original. Is there any way of overcoming this, or finding the code somewhere?

Any help would be great, many thanks in advance.
